Stark County CSCL Championship

SCHEDULE:  Doors open at 8:00 AM with first round at 9:00 AM. (note earlier start time!) Check-in from 8:00-8:30

FORMAT:  5 round swiss system, G/30, G/45 for round 5 in all rated sections. 4 rounds G/30 in both Novice Sections

This is a closed tournament and open to Canton Scholastic Chess League Schools only or any resident of Stark County!

SECTIONS:

9-12 High School Championship

6-8 Middle School Championship

K-5 Elementary Championship

K-5 Novice  (USCF provisional rated players with less than 10 games or a rating below300 may play novice)

K-2 Novice (USCF provisional rated players with less than 10 games or a rating below300 may play novice)

All sections except the K-2 Novice and 3-5 Novice are USCF rated and require a current USCF membership.

AWARDS:  Trophies to top 10 Individuals in rated sections.  Trophies to top 5 Teams in rated sections.

                          Trophies to top 2 Individuals in Novice sections. Trophies to top 2 Teams in Novice sections.

                          All Novice players will receive a medal.

TEAMS:  Team scores will be determined by adding the scores of the three highest-scoring players from the same school in a given Section.  A team shall have at least two players to win a team award. 

ENTRY FEE:  $15 unless $30 fee has been previously paid. $5 for unpaid players on a reduced lunch program. Principals signature required for reduced lunch entries. 

NOTE:  This is the closed League Championship at the end of the season for CSCL league member schools only. The CSCL reserves the right to accelerate pairings at the Tournament Directors discretion. Read the CSCL Tournament Guidelines before entering this event. Unofficial ratings from February 13th will be used for all players in this event.
